Beer Marketing Job: Cigar City, Marketing Manager

Objective

The Cigar City Marketing Manager is a premier role at one the world’s most highly-regarded breweries. This position will oversee all marketing efforts on behalf of the brewery. Reporting directly to the COO, the Marketing Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and executing strategic marketing plans in order to attract new consumers, retain existing ones, and maintain the overall health of our world-class brands.  This is a leadership role requiring a high level of organization, discipline and marketing acumen. 

Essential Responsibilities:

• Develops strategies and tactics to drive awareness and purchase intent for our brands

• Deploys successful marketing campaigns and owns implementation from ideation to execution

• Shepherds creative output with attention to detail, thoughtful decision making and timely delivery 

• Drives traffic into the taproom via events and other marketing vehicles to generate on-site sales

• Conducts market research to identify consumer insights and white space opportunities

• Manages a robust marketing budget including forecasting, reporting and monthly actualization 

• Builds and maintains strategic relationships with key partners throughout the craft beer industry

• Partners with sales team to ensure success at retail both in existing and new markets

• Works closely with wholesaler partners to achieve shared business objectives 

• Evaluates partnership and sponsorship opportunities with the goal of delivering positive ROI 

• Sets measurable objectives and reports on the performance of marketing campaigns

• Utilizes learnings to optimize marketing output, drive efficiencies and make the work smarter

• Creates intelligent, strategic marketing presentations with a high level of polish and storytelling

• Oversees all aspects of the marketing mix, including digital, media, packaging, merchandise, etc.

• Establishes trust with direct reports, cross-functional team members and brewery leadership

Additional Responsibilities:

• Works closely with CANarchy marketing team to implement collective strategies and initiatives   

• Identifies areas for process improvement and efficiencies in terms of both time and cost

• Monitors industry news, sharing key learnings and implications with the team

• Ensures continuous and comprehensive training and development for staff

• Performs other related duties as required or assignedRequirements

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Experience in craft beer and/or alcoholic beverage industry required

• Knowledge of creative marketing strategies, concepts, and practices

• Knowledge of project management and performance measurement

• Knowledge of the craft beer industry

• Skill in problem-solving and data-driven decision making 

• Skill in effective communication and presentation

• Ability to work in a collaborative environment

• Ability to think creatively within deadlines and pay acute attention to detail

• Comfortable in a fast-paced, demanding environment with high expectations 

• Able to work beyond traditional office hours and do whatever it to takes to get the job done

• Willing to take on any task no matter how big or small and check their ego at the door

Physical & Mental Requirements:

Must have the physical and mental strength and endurance to be able to perform duties, in at times extreme environments, as well as the ability to handle stressors of the position in operational and administrative situations.  Required to frequently lift and move 10 -25 pounds.  Expected to stand, sit, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, talk, hear, taste, smell, see, and operate objects, tools, and controls.
